2010 - 2011 CALENDAR

MIDDLE SCHOOL MADATE UPDATE...

There have been no changes in the mandate or in the way schools can

meet it. Home and Career Skills is required for 3/4 unit for all students

before the end of grade 8; a certified FACS teacher (or previously certified

Home Economics teacher) is needed to provide this instruction. If Home and Career Skills is integrated into another area, the time in that area

must be extended by 30 weeks and a certified FACS teacher must provide

the instruction (no savings for a district). All of this is in Commissioner's

Regulation 100.4 Available at: http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/part100/pages/1004.html

Dear Current LI FACS Professionals Members,

We are in the process of updating our current member only email list. Please send any changes you have regarding your email address to: lifacseducators@gmail.com
