State
teaching honor

Cindy Theiss, a family
and consumer sciences teacher at Babylon Junior-Senior High
School, has been named 2008 New York State teacher of the year
by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
She was recognized for her work with the school's child psychology
class - one of the state's first such programs, the district
said.
She was honored at
a ceremony earlier this month in Milwaukee.
